I went to a Gary Husband Clinic some months ago, and a guy sat in front of me and really had a great time! and when we came to questions, he asked Gary of what he thought about Lars Ulrich

Gary Husband handled the Question very well!

I've been to alot of clinics lately and what usually strikes me is that people asks questions out of context, not that it is a bad thing. I would just be imagining how confusing answering to all this would be - while trying to have a steady flowing progress of a clinic.

Here's what went down at a Thomas Lang clinic I visited:

Person from audience: What can't you do?
***Absolute silence. I wanted to shoot myself already...***
Thomas: Cook.

It's always funny to me when someone asks a clinician their opinion of another drummer...it's annoying, but it's worth it to see the look of bewilderment on their faces...

I was at a simon Phillips clinic/performance. He came with a hell of a band too! He brought Gary Willis and Dave Fucinsnki. We'll they were all fielding questions. this guy stands up and asks willis about how he plays " Clown darts" on the bass. You should have seen his face!!!!!!!! Clown Darts? He kept his composure quite well. After about 5 minutes of willis asking this guy what the hell he was talking about, they settled it. The guy was asking about double stops on the bass. Clown Darts..

Ok .. my second best was at a Dennis Chambers clinic at Daddy's in Boston. A student asked .. "Dennis , can you take your hat off?" he actually did. Now this was when he always had that had on. Funny thing, After that clinic Dennis started going hatless in ads and on gigs.
funny stuff.. This is a great thread!

actually i got one from my omar hakim clinic, wasn't so much a cheesy question but more unusual

Guy: (in a borat (from Ali G) accent): Omar, Can i jam with you?
Omar: ;| what instrument do you play
Guy: (always in borat accent) The trumpet
Omar: Alright come on up

The guy came up with this tiny trumpet
And then Omar starts this sort of half jazz half funky groove! And they ended up burning!!! The guy on trumpet must have had a lot of balls to do that but man he was good! One of the highlights

Yeah, that guy is selling the performance on Ebay now.

It's the guy with the Vinnie DVD's who keeps sending me junk mail. He plays trumpet.
